Imagine Having a School System
 Whose Core Value is… Imagination
Albert Einstein spent his first 17 years battling a German bureaucracy called school. The reason why Einstein may have not done as well in school as you would expect was that he abhorred the strict regimentation of what and how was taught. Traveling across Europe to join his folks, who had moved to Italy, Albert stopped at this school, in I believe, Switzerland. It was based on the theories of a reformer named Johann Pestalozzi during the Age of Enlightenment (think Declaration of Independence). Over a hundred years later, Einstein was welcomed into a school based on these principles. It was everything the German system wasn’t. Students were trusted and given freedoms in an environment that encouraged everyone to pursue their interests. This was the first time that Albert Einstein was encouraged by an institution to dream. Turns out the results of that daydreaming carried a lot of gravitas.
Imagine encouraging young people to put the foundations under their dreams? You could teach math, science, history, writing, just about anything from what captivates them.
